The Ultimate Question

Psalm 100:3
Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

John 10:27
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow
me

There is nothing surreal about this. There are no gimmicks, no ventriloquism, no phone call nor can we call Him on the phone (it sure would be nice though). There is no huge mouth in the clouds every time we need direction or that we just look up and have an answer.

This is real, man listening and talking and walking with God. This is God listening, talking and walking with man. We can hear His voice, the still soft voice, through His Word, through others, through messengers, through experiencing and being aware of the beauty of all His creation. He speaks to us in the wind, through an ass, through angels, in a burning bush, from a cross.

So here's the question. Why don't we listen? Are we too busy, too preoccupied, too self centered, too surrounded by distractions. It is our choice to listen or not to listen. What we hear is not always what we expect, it isn't always loaded with abundance of 'things', because His voice asks that ultimate question after He says 'follow me', the next question is 'will you die for Me' a question that no other man can answer but you.
