When we surrender our'selves' to that secret place which Jesus is speaking of and in quiet thankfulness always seek Him for everything, there is no need to be out in the lime light. We soon realize as we surrender to this secret place of our hearts where He lives within us there is no need for outward performance in order to get a public applause.

Life is heaven on earth. As I seek fully His kingdom 'to come', I realize this is His kingdom, The Secret Place is Here as well as There. There is no separation, no difference, no division between Here and There. The Cross is the intersection which we must pass through. We have access to Heaven right here on Earth.

I really see that when I am able to do these things, it is only because I am constantly dying to myself, moment by moment and day by day. 'What I focus on increases', so if I focus on the Kingdom of God is at hand, then the Kingdom of God increases in me. But me being so totally out of focus most of the time and easily distracted is a dilemma to overcome. Even when my desire is to stay in touch with Jesus within me, the world can easily distract me, my mind can easily go amuck.

I must fight for Truth and focus on what is pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. I say this knowing that it only comes with a real heart change within me. My heart is teaching me to see and hear.
.
Matthew 6:1 "Take care! Don't do your good deeds publicly, to be admired, because then you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. 2 When you give a gift to someone in need, don't shout about it as the hypocrites do – blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I assure you, they have received all the reward they will ever get. 3 But when you give to someone, don't tell your left hand what your right hand is doing. 4 Give your gifts in secret, and your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you. 5 "And now about prayer. When you pray, don't be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I assure you, that is all the reward they will ever get. 6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father secretly. Then your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you. 7 "When you pray, don't babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered only by repeating their words again and again. 8 Don't be like them, because your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! 9 Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored. 10 May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven. 11 Give us our food for today, 12 and forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us. 13 And don't let us yield to temptation, but deliver us from the evil one 14 "If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. 15 But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. 16 "And when you fast, don't make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, who try to look pale and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. I assure you, that is the only reward they will ever get. 17 But when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face. 18 Then no one will suspect you are fasting, except your Father, who knows what you do in secret. And your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you. 19 "Don't store up treasures here on earth, where they can be eaten by moths and get rusty, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Store your treasures in heaven, where they will never become moth-eaten or rusty and where they will be safe from thieves. 21 Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be. 22 "Your eye is a lamp for your body. A pure eye lets sunshine into your soul. 23 But an evil eye shuts out the light and plunges you into darkness. If the light you think you have is really darkness, how deep that darkness will be! 24 "No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. 25 "So I tell you, don't worry about everyday life – whether you have enough food, drink, and clothes. Doesn't life consist of more than food and clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don't need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are. 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not. 28 "And why worry about your clothes? Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely care for you? You have so little faith! 31 "So don't worry about having enough food or drink or clothing. 32 Why be like the pagans who are so deeply concerned about these things? Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, 33 and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. 34 "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today. (NLT)

And when I typed pass through the Cross this came up again. This was Pentecost we celebrate today and everyday. They knew. It isn't an outward performance but an inward secret relationship with Him that manifests outwardly.

May 27, 2009 Enigma to complete

Psalm 111:2 How amazing are the deeds of the LORD! All who delight in him should ponder them. (NLT)

The Spirit of God dwells in all men and women. Who will ponder His goodness and infinite Love? Who will to ponder this together? Who will ponder His absolute Truth? Who will to go to depths of His Love without fear? Who will follow His invitation? This is all for Life, there is no other reason. We choose the way in which we walk and how far we are willing to go. His Life/Breath is in each of us, created in us. We cannot misunderstand what has been put into our hearts.

Who will ponder this together until this enigma is complete?

May 26, 2009 Eternal, Internal Peace

One life changing experience is internal peace. Once I realize the difference between outward happiness and inner peace, then by example I can begin to affect peace.

My peace is not depending on anything I 'do', nor does it depend on anything any one else does to or for me. It also does not depend on where I am or my outward situation, physical comfort, being alone or with many people. My peace is inward and 'no' outward circumstance can change that. This work is continuous and my mind must be constantly renewed so my heart can continually expand.

What does peace look like? There is no more acting out in fear that is separating or destructive both inward and outward. There are no more troubled hearts, but flowing conduits of expanding peace, one person to another. With authentic inner peace we are able to invite others to find inner peace by example..

This peace began with our God, Who sent His Son and Who left us His Spirit. .

He is always reminding us

John 14:25 "All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

May 22, 2009 Seeking to be healed

To everyone seeking healing and everyone seeking healing for another,

We have beautiful images and amazing songs of Jesus depicting Him knocking on the door, sitting in gardens, holding us, touching us, as well as depictions of His life, death and resurrection, but I can't think of one depiction of Him inside of us. I guess I'm back on His Light and Love and maybe here to stay since this is so profound to me. What does Jesus look like on the inside us? He may not be directly visible to our physical eyes, but when we look into the face of every human being created in His image we are looking at Him.

I really felt in my heart to remind you to stay in touch with Jesus 'within' you. He is not just 'outside' of us. We have been so focused on Him 'out' there, and 'up' there or 'in' there, that we miss Him 'in' here. Jesus 'in' us is our First Love experience. Although we know He is omnipresent, He is not just walking 'by' or called 'down' or drawn ''near', He is 'in' our hearts. We can meet Him in the secret place where He is waiting all the time. His healing Love and Light permeates every cell of our created being.

The secret garden is 'in' our hearts.

This healing you have always known.

Happiness,” the term that Aristotle uses to designate the highest human good, is ....more like well-being or flourishing than any feeling of contentment. http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/34560/Aristotle/254722/Happiness

(xsara-lampos) Χαραλαμπος Joy to shine. (lampos - lamp)

Happiness and Virtue as a MeanEdip Yuksel Happiness is a feeling. It is probably the balance (remainder) of pains and pleasures, fortunes and misfortunes, success and failures, love and hatred, hope and worries. In other words, it is the average perception of all "good" perception minus all "bad" perception. It seems that we have two different concepts of happiness regarding its life-span. Temporal happiness and permanent happiness (or real happiness). The former is our current response (feelings) to a particular pleasing phenomenon. The later is a state of contentment regarding our overall aspects of life.
My Webster's College Dictionary briefly states the modern concept of happiness. You are happy, if you are:
1. delighted, pleased, or glad;
2. characterized by pleasure, contentment, or joy;
3. favored by fortune; fortunate or lucky.
http://www.yuksel.org/e/philosophy/happiness.htm

__________

Regardless of the definition or origin of happiness or joy if it is promoted by 'outward' things it is only temporary. If happiness is an 'inward' state of mind, no rather a state of the heart, it will flourish in every circumstance regardless of outward pleasures or outward disappointments. But

I really do like the origin of the Greek word, Χαραλαμπος, it is the light φως (phos)..so much of this is coming up for me these days about Light. I'm led to His Light within me as I look for His Light in others. Χαρα is really joy and with the internal shine (lampos), His Light really does shine with Joy from 'within'.So once again this Light of His is not little at all.

May 20, 2009 Love/Light

Darkness Must flee in the face of light but light Will Not flee in the face of darkness.
Put this to an observable test...
Dark room - turn on light switch, voila! - no darkness!
Lighted room - turn on a dark switch (not too silly is it?) - nix! - There is still light!

We are constantly being faced with darkness and blindness in the darkness. With the Light of Jesus, which is in us, wherever we carry His Love/Light, darkness must flee. This is because darkness/fear/the enemy (which needs no attention at all) is afraid of His Love/Light.

Emptied vessels can be filled because they are empty. I often say, 'I have to get down to the bottom of myself', emptied until God fills me and shows me His Way through every doubting, fearful situation. Completely emptied of fear (reaction and response reveal the fear) versus His Love/Light.

His Infinite Love Wins Infinitely.

I went back to my friends notes to pull these. Thank you Lizabeth, for you, and for us, as we constantly hold each other so we can remember.

'Love Broke Out' by Lizabeth Doolittle

Verb: break out breyk awt1. Start abruptly"

After 1989, peace broke out in the former East Bloc"- erupt

2. Begin suddenly and sometimes violently"He broke out shouting""Love Broke Out", "Prayer Broke Out", "Kindness Broke Out"These are the headlines I would love to see in the newspapers, instead of the senseless tragedies we do see.

A family in our community lost a son in such a senseless event. Headlines were written about this unfathomable loss of life and all of those who loved this family and those who just love life wanted those headlines and reporting to be a made up horror story, lies, fabrications, a fictional tragedy. But the loss was real.

A friend, Vicky, wrote to me on facebook that a 15 year old girl was life-flighted from her neighborhood, after suffering a stroke. Vicky said all the neighbors came out of their homes and "prayer broke out".

I love this definition of "break out"--- 2. Begin suddenly and sometimes violentlyAdjective: violent vI-(u-)lunt

1. Acting with or marked by or resulting from great force or energy or emotional intensityLet love break out. Let prayer break out. Let kindness break out. Let us be violent, forceful, energetic, passionate, purposeful, proactive about our prayers, displays of love, and tangible acts of kindness!

Jesus encouraged us (yes, even us pacifists) that the violent take the Kingdom of heaven by force. THIS is the violence we need to see. Real women and real men passionately, purposely loving. Let love and prayer and kindness break out (suddenly and sometimes violently) now.

Remember the song, "Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me"? Let violent, passionate, purposeful, proactive, energetic, love break out and let it begin with me. And you. And you. And you....

And Greg and Rebecca I am thinking of you...you know why... if you could ever add it to your songs, please.. :-)

Like a foolish dreamer that was trying to build
A highway to the sky
All my world come tumblin down
And I never knew just why
Until today when You pulled away the clouds
That hung like curtains on my eyes.
I was blind all these wasted years when
I thought I was so wise.
But then You took me by surprise.

Like waking up from the longest dream
How real it seemed
Until Your love broke through
And I was lost in a fantasy
That blinded me
Until your love broke through.

All my life I have been searching
For that crazy missing part
With one touch Lord You just rolled away
The stone that held my heart,

Now I see that the answer was as easy
As my need to let love in
And I am so sure I could never doubt
Your gentle touch again
It's like the power of the wind.
Like waking up from the longest dream
How real it seemed
Until Your love broke through
And I was lost in a fantasy
That blinded me
Until your love broke through.

Remember this? Smile Jesus Loves You!

May 15, 2009 Build an altar

'Whether viewed as 'the desert' or the 'closet,' solitude provides the private place where we can take our bearings and so make the Lord our North Star that we remain fixed on as we return to society. Thus solitude becomes not so much a place as a state of heart. It is a matter of aloneness, not loneliness. Wherever we go, whatever we face, solitude is the mobile altar in our lives that allows us to live as we worship - before the Audience of One.

Today we tend to talk of 'work' and 'leisure' as opposites. Work is serious, leisure is play, it is said. Work is drudgery, leisure is fun. Work is for pay, leisure is free. Work is what we do for someone else, leisure is for ourselves - and so on. But a moment's thought shows this is not so. For closer to the mark is the observation that the modern world has scrambled things so badly that today we worship our work, we work at our play, and we play at our worship.

That confusion is worth pondering. But the more important point is that the relationship between work and leisure changes from society to society and from generation to generation in the same society. A holiday as 'vacation' for example, is a recent invention that is quite different from the holiday as 'holy day'. So while it is fruitful to reflect on a Christian critique of society's view of leisure at any particular time, it is absolutely essential to think through Christ's view of rest and spiritual discipline for his disciples for all time. Only then can we answer the call and resist the sleep of death.'

'Do you live in a world without windows? Do you feel the time squeeze of those for whom managing time is a bigger problem than making money? Have you developed your gifts of reason and practicality to the point where your eyes of faith are blind and your weapons of spiritual warfare purely metaphorical Or do you see 'the horses and chariots of fire all around'? Listen to Jesus of Nazareth; answer His call.' ___ The Call, Os Guinness

We can find that place where solitude is a mobile altar, we take it wherever we go. We build it after parting the water to get to the other side. The burning chariot over head, if it doesn't sweep us off our feet, the mantle of desire to follow Him will fall on our shoulders. Then we can go back and hit the water to part it once more to continue in His call.

Whether on a mountain top or in a valley, or through a stream or a river, in our homes or our jobs, we can build an altar to connect with our God.

This is the place of miracles.
We can build an altar anywhere.

May 14, 2009 Ego eime kai S'Agapo

First of all, I want to thank God for every beautiful life He has put in my path as we walk closely together with deeply connecting hearts, We are learning to surrender and be vulnerable with each other as we experience His Great Love, through us and for us.
____________________________________

Ego: the best definition is from the Greek verb - to be, conjugated in first person - 'I' and when 'eime' is added, it is Ego eime, or 'I am'. This says everything, 'I am' is all about me, I exist for me. The 'I' thrives on feeding me, feeding my fears and projecting my fears. The 'I'' wants to be alone, it is an insatiable savage when not pleased or put into a position of inclusion. The 'I' resists Love and certainly doesn't want to give Love because no one is deserving of anything but the 'I'. The 'I' goes to great lengths to twist and distort real Love to protect it'self'.

This super-ego is a strong-willed perfectionist and critic. This is a part of us that needs crushing and pruning in order for us to have abundant Life. Resisting Love can be pretty exhausting and painful. When the ego is being crushed it feels like labor before birth, but one thing I know, I can release the pain and admire the amazing beauty of Life being created in me in the process.

The nemesis of the 'I' is the Cardia or Heart which lives for Etsi or You, 'S'agapo'', You - I Love (Apape). This Love desires to be included, is all inclusive and Loves unconditionally; it is satiated and grows in Love. Do you see the struggle? The war between the two? This struggle is not of the flesh. The battle starts within 'me'.

I want to highlight parts of this scripture for emphasis, but I can't because the emphasis is on all of it:

Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. 4 Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. 7 If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. 9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. 20 On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Love is relentless...Love will always Win!

May 12, 2000 First Love is Back

This completely explains the path and destination of our unique individual journey as we draw closer to Jesus. My dear friend Susan asked today, 'Do you remember what it was like when you first fell in love with Jesus?' What a beautiful time to ponder as He draws us back to that First Love to live and love Him continuously and forever. Do you remember? Over the years I've been asked 'how do we get back to that First Love? or what do you think happened that caused us to leave that First Love?'

'Do you remember what it was like when you first fell in love with Jesus?' He hasn't changed, His Love is Unconditional, Abundant and Everlasting. As we trust Him and completely surrender to Him, He brings us back to that First Love

Hold me close to You.
Remember?

May 10, 2009 Happy Mother's Day

Whether you are a mom or you are the child, there is never an ending just like there was never a beginning. When we entered this world it is the same as leaving this world. Joy in the beginning and Joy in the ending.

After all we are all celebrating birth.

May 9, 2009 His Love Never Fails

For those family and friends who wait and hope with us, pray with us and watch how we are living as we search for a deeper relationship with God, I am sharing this pouring out of my heart with you in hopes that I can point you to Jesus in the same way our dear awesome friend Jim, a modern day John the Baptist, fearlessly, openly and relentlessly reminds us to always look to Jesus.

How did we make something so simple, so complicated?

We are becoming continuously aware of how God's Unconditional Love heals. It isn't any longer outward work of doing anything with exhausting emotional energy or even speaking with that same energy in order to heal, rebuke, correct or cast out demons. Healing is occurring everywhere with His Fruit (singular) of the Holy Spirit - Love, Joy, Peace, Patience (oh boy, don't you wish that wasn't there?!) Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self Control. This work of the Spirit is undetectable with human eyes occurring through full blown feeling hearts stepping out to Love with His Love, touching lives until all that is afflicting God's people flees. Jesus protected and healed all who came to Him that needed protection and healing, He Loved and He desired for His people to know Him completely and fully inviting a close personal relationship with Him and to experience Him.

We are in the midst of seeing His Unconditional Love heal all diseases and sicknesses and transforming, renewing, awakening and even raising the dead, which isn't necessarily the physical body. There are no demons that can stand, inflict, hold or keep in bondage any human being created in His image, because we walk in His Love. We will see this Truth only when we allow all the mundane obstacles of this world to be crushed with all its temptations that come between our connecting with God. This is where He reveals Himself to us in ways that we cannot fathom. And in all of this we see that His Word is truly alive and breathing and able to accomplish all that He has set out for It to do. We don't need to manipulate, add to or take away from It in order to try in our feeble, lame ways to make It do anything that It is already doing.

We learn and see that His 'Unconditional' Love is just that. Love is not 'unconditional' if we are adding to, taking away, manipulating, resisting, requiring, rewarding, restricting promising or shaming to get a specific result or response in order to teach, love (which then is not unconditional love at all) or accept someone. We have only been living what we have been taught and what we have been taught by man came from fear of this world. God is teaching us His way. What an injustice to our Father that we would take His Word, His Proven Unconditional Love and add anything to it that would restrict healing and vision and purpose for which He created us to be. God's Unconditional Love Heals, Completely. I am convinced there is nothing I need to do to help Him except Love with the Love that He has given to me. Because it isn't anything we are doing that heals anyway, it is only God doing it.

Ken and I are constantly learning to lay down our fears of this world and in the midst of living this call or invitation to follow Him, (which doesn't need degrees or titles), to be deliverers and servants of His Love to others. This is where we invite all to hold each other, uplift in prayer our desperation to God and ask to experience in so many ways healing and delivery from the fears of this world. We see many tests that come, which would normally in our old ways cause us to ostracize, criticize and really want to pulverize (as a means to try and hide our fear) any person that defaulted on anything owed or promised (whether real or an illusion) to us, until we realize God calls us to forgive each other's debt as well. We are learning as long as we keep our mind, our heart and our soul on our ONLY One True Source, rather than looking to people 'first', because when we look to Him for our needs He chooses how our needs are met in our surrendering all to Him. And we are finding out that our effort means nothing because the harder we try to do anything on our own power, the slimmer things get because His Work must be first.

It was our choice and we know that many cannot understand this choice. We know our source isn't social security or government assistance or savings or Interests or assets or even a so-called secure jobs because that will all soon fade away, It is a very humbling reality that there are no coincidences with those God puts in our Life's path. Every single person we know is there for a purpose, that is to teach us something about ourselves, And an even greater mind blowing aspect to this is how our birth family was chosen for us.

When one door closes we can be sure another will open. We have this assurance that He is taking care of our every need as we surrender all to Him. We are learning a new way to live and that is Living His Unconditional Love.

For friends and family who are fearful, which manifests in so many ways, we understand you completely and are now living our lives as a testimony to everyone for the days to come, only one thing holds true forever, His Love Never Fails.

May 8, 2009 Feed My Sheep

What risks do we take when totally giving of ourselves? To be able to feel what others feel? What manner of avoidance do we consciously and unconsciously take to keep from feeling the depth of pain or love from someone? Do we avoid in order to remain comfortable or choose comfort in order to resist feeling? When we search our hearts we find these answers and we love each other.

One said to me the other day 'no one wants them'. That is, those in jails and prisons. One said to me 'who wants them?' That is, the children who are losing sight of any glimmer of hope to live a reasonably healthy and safe life. One said, to me 'who will give them a chance?' That is, everyone, everywhere, children, teens and adults. One said to me 'do you love Me? and when I answered and said 'yes Lord', He said, 'then feed my sheep'.

His sheep are 'everyone, everywhere'....the prison isn't just a building...

May 7, 2009 What a friend we have

I am sitting here thinking about my awesome friends. I'm feeling so deeply connected to them but at the same time realizing how few really experience the depth of this beautiful uninhibited exchange of our giving and receiving (and it's not things but naked hearts). Past the smiles and hugs and 'how are you', are two open (and vulnerable) hearts where there is no more fear to express love and fear and freedom and pain. The unfathomable beauty in our full expressions will never cease (never). We are living heaven on earth. Walking and sharing our hearts which is a communion every time we meet We sit under booths and star lit nights and Son lit days enjoying the presence of Jesus with us and experiencing His touch on our the cheeks and He says to us, 'I love you with all My heart'.

1 Corinthians 12:13 By means of his one Spirit, we all said good-bye to our partial and piecemeal lives. We each used to independently call our own shots, but then we entered into a large and integrated life in which he has the final say in everything. (This is what we proclaimed in word and action when we were baptized.) Each of us is now a part of his resurrection body, refreshed and sustained at one fountain - his Spirit - where we all come to drink. The old labels we once used to identify ourselves - labels like Jew or Greek, slave or free - are no longer useful. We need something larger, more comprehensive. 14 I want you to think about how all this makes you more significant, not less. A body isn't just a single part blown up into something huge. It's all the different-but-similar parts arranged and functioning together. (The Message)

16 Meanwhile, the eleven disciples were on their way to Galilee, headed for the mountain Jesus had set for their reunion. 17 The moment they saw him they worshiped him. Some, though, held back, not sure about worship, about risking themselves totally. 18 Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: "God authorized and commanded me to commission you: 19 Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 20 Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I'll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age." (The Message)

This song has been in my mind since Sunday. It is so beautiful. There must be a reason it keeps playing over and over and this time I don't want to switch to anoher because it's not in my head anyway.

May 5, 2009, His Steadfast Love Steadies Me

Psalm 57:7 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Psalm 108:1 My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my soul.
Psalm 119:5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees.

stead⋅fast   /ˈstɛdˌfæst, -ˌfɑst, -fəst/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [sted-fast, -fahst, -fuhst] Show IPA –adjective

1.fixed in direction; steadily directed: a steadfast gaze.
2.firm in purpose, resolution, faith, attachment, etc., as a person: a steadfast friend.
3.unwavering, as resolution, faith, adherence, etc.
4.firmly established, as an institution or a state of affairs.
5.firmly fixed in place or position.

Oh, yes we know where the foundation is steadfast under our feet. Temptations will come and go but our feet will be established and unwavering. This is my reminder. Thank you to those who constantly remind us of His great Love.

This walking with Jesus isn't easy is it? And speaking for myself and if you can relate we are holding each other as we are accountable to God alone, surrendering with every step we take. Life isn't always easy, as a matter of fact life isn't easy most of the time. This is where I hold onto the Lord's steadfast Love. It is my anchor and immovable foundation. When the ground is cracking under my feet, I can be sure after all the dust settles down in the earthquake, His foundation will be intact and I will still be 'standing' with Him.

Then this comes in Jim's blog this morning reminding me that my greatest work is always within myself and not out there or with or because of anyone else or circumstance. I know how ruthless, conniving, hardheaded I can be, in my mind first, and then showing outwardly making so many lives miserable. If you haven't seen this part of me it's because you don't spend 365 days, 24/7 with me. I must constantly die to my old ways and surrender to God until my mind is renewed and my heart is changed bit by bit. I am aware of my need to ask for forgiveness everyday, to allow the crushing of this insane ego of mine. God help me to keep looking inward to find more of You.

""Repeating my favorite and most mind-blowing Bible verse, Mark 11:24:

"Pray for what you need; believe you have received it, and it is yours."

And as confronting and provocative as this may sound in the face of so much "argued for"' darkness, fear, languishing, and loathing in the world, I have discovered from vast experience in the human relational realm that we truly do experience and actually become that which we believe ourselves to be, and others and the world treat us exactly the way we believe we deserve to be treated. If we truly want things to be different in our lives, to receive a different and more meaningful reality, it is time to choose a different belief about God, ourselves, and others (and we do actually get to choose what we believe about all that, regardless of our past experience and upbringing), and a totally different prayer (and we do actually get to choose how, what, and why we pray), and then a steadfast "readying of our hearts" (with our guide and teacher, Jesus, leading us at the center - and we also get to choose who we believe him to be for us) to "have received.""

I want to be more like You Jesus.

Psalm 112:7 He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.

May 2, 2009 All About Tears

I was thinking about the many tears that so many of us cry out everyday in empathy, or sadness, fear and joy. So I found these interesting links, all about tears, one of which I posted last year in March. Hope you find these all interesting:

There was a study done where a control group of 100people were divided into two. 50 people watched avery funny, tears-of-laughter type movie. 50 watcheda very sad and tears-of-compassion type movie.

At the end of the sessions researchers collected the"happy tears" and the "sad tears" with eye droppers.

They found that "happy tears" are made up ofbrine...salt water and not a great deal else.

However the "sad tears" were found to contain thevery same chemicals and enzymes that are found intumours, ulcers and other such lumps and bumps andsicknesses through out the body.

This test concluded that the body, when crying insadness etc is literally flushing out all of thetoxic-chemicals that accumulate and are a part of thesadness /heart ache experience. Therefore if one holds back those tears, thosetoxic-waters will find somewhere else to depositthemselves..... and prolonged lack-of-crying-releasewill guarantee that the body will accumulate a hugeamount of internal pollution and toxicity thatshould have been released through thetears........is it any wonder that the eyes sting somuch when we hold back our tears?" http://msgboard.snopes.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=35;t=001788;p=1

And this:

All tears contain 3 chemicals released by the body during stress. They are: 1) leucine-enkephalin -- an endorphine believed to modulate pain sensation 2) ACTH -- a hormone considered to be the body's most reliable indicator of stress and 3) prolactin -- the hormone which regulates milk production in mammals.http://www.geocities.com/jennbillncass/Tears.html

Both emotional and irritant tears contain 30 times more manganese than is found in blood, suggesting that human tear glands can concentrate and remove substances from the body. http://www.boston.com/globe/search/stories/health/health_sense/102196.htm

Scientists distinguish three kinds of tears, which differ from each other by function and also, probably, by composition. Basal tears actually form continuously. We don't experience these minute secretions as tears because they don't "ball up" as we are used to tears doing; instead, every time we blink, our eyelids spread the basal solution out over the surface of our eyeballs. Basal tears keep our eyes lubricated, important in preventing damage by air currents and bits of floating debris.

Basal tears, like all tears, have numerous components. A little bit of mucus allows them to adhere to the eye surface without causing harm. The main part of a tear contains, predictably, water and salts (like sodium chloride and potassium chloride). The ratio of salt to water in tears is typically similar to that of the rest of the body, so there is no net change in salt concentration; nonetheless, if the body's salt concentration climbs too high, it will take advantage of the tear solution and instill it with extra salt. Tears also have antibodies that defend against pathogenic microbes, and enzymes which also contribute to destroying any bacteria the eye encounters. A thin layer of oil covers the tear's outside to discourage it from falling out of the eye before its work has been done.

Our eyes produce irritant tears when hit by wind or sand (or insects or rocks). Irritant, or reflex, tears have the same constituents as basal tears, and work toward the same goal: protecting the eyes. However, since they are designed to break down and eliminate eyeball-intruders like airborne dust, these tears tend to flow in greater amounts and probably contain a greater concentration of antibodies and enzymes that target micro-organisms. Thus, irritant tears are not just basal tears in greater quantity; different biological processes precede the excretion of the two types of solution.

The voluminous tears that so rapidly move us to frustration or pity are, of course, emotional tears. Secreted in moments of intense feeling – sometimes joy, but more often sorrow – these tears aren't there to cleanse the eyes of irritating microbes or debris. Yet they do serve a purpose; the function of emotional tears can be inferred from their constituents. Emotional tears contain much more (maybe 25% more) than basal or irritant tears of a certain important ingredient: proteins.

What do proteins do? Well, what can't they do? We know very well they can be involved in anything and everything. The proteins found in emotional tears are hormones that build up to very high levels when the body withstands emotional stress.

If the chemicals associated with stress did not discharge at all, they would build up to toxic levels that could weaken the body's immune system and other biological processes. But here, as in other areas, the body has its own mechanisms of coping. We secrete stress chemicals when we sweat and when we cry. Clearly, then, it is physically very healthy to cry, regardless of whether or not it feels awkward or embarrassing socially. The reason people will frequently report feeling better after a well-placed cry is doubtless connected to the discharge of stress-related proteins; some of the proteins excreted in tears are even associated with the experience of physical pain, rendering weeping a physiologically pain-reducing process. Conversely, the state of clinical depression – in which many of the body's self-healing processes appear to "shut down," including, often, emotional tears – is most likely exacerbated by the tearless victim's inability to adequately discharge her pent-up stress. Psychologists refer to freely weeping as an important stage in the healing process. But although this notion may appear to be psychological in origin, involving the confrontation of one's own grief, it also just applies physiologically: crying can reduce levels of stress hormones. http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/exchange/node/1825

Perhaps our eyes need to be washed by our tears once in a while, so that we can see Life with a clearer view again. Alex Tan

There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief... and unspeakable love. Washington Irving

What soap is for the body, tears are for the soul. Jewish Proverb

Revelation 21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.

This expression is deeper than what is observed.

May 1, 2009 All The Way

Our lives are like the spaces on a ladder. The rungs are for our climbing to a higher searching within ourselves to a 'reachable' God. The rungs are different growth experiences. The climbing can get very difficult at times but we must finish, one rung at a time. We know that at the top of the ladder we will experience the fullness of God.

Then, when at the top, there is only one thing to do, jump and soar.
