April 13, 2009 Friends Love

After such a glorious day reminding us of Jesus' Love and Promise of Eternal Life as we receive Him what else is there? Really? So why do we become fearful when we choose to look at circumstances? What happens when we totally surrender and keep ourselves in a place of waiting without giving up? What if we never get tired of pondering and living out His call to follow Him and serve Him as we serve each other?

What if in this surrender and waiting, we could see this Promise, this Eternal Life, walking through every difficult circumstance, treacherous and deadly obstacles?

We hold onto Jesus and each other, then we find His Great Love together. This is all we need. Really.

Here is the most amazing woman, she lives in Austin. Our family watched this on Texas Country Reporter yesterday. I had to find it to share with you. Listen to her story of serving and loving people in a poor area of Austin. After losing her family to sickness and then being homeless with her child, she started this little 'hole-in-the-wall' restaurant in East Austin. With three tables she does it all. She feeds the homeless everyday (Texas Country Reporter showed they come to the back of her restaurant while she works her business in the front). She said 'all the blessings that flow in, flow out'. Lola has a servant's heart, she is a friend of God and God's people. WOW, this touched my heart.

John 15:15 I'm no longer calling you servants because servants don't understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I've named you friends because I've let you in on everything I've heard from the Father. 16 "You didn't choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won't spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you. 17 "But remember the root command: Love one another. (The Message)

Let's be friends.
