Cross & Life
Though the cross in itself represents death, it is the place were we come to a decision to choose life. It is hard to think much about all Jesus did without grieving, but the final story of the cross is resurrected life, perfect love, unlimited grace, overcoming peace, everlasting joy. There is only one cross that did this and it is the cross of Jesus on which He died willingly because of His great love for us. No other man, no other place, no other time, no other religion, has ever exhibited such great love and grace and it is from God Who IS Love.
He offers us to lay our burdens down at His feet, at the foot of the cross where everything for life and to have life more abundantly is found. We lay down our sins, our hurts, our pain, our illness, our diseases, our needs, our desires, our hearts and we find life.
Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Phiippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
An added note: after searching for a contrast with the word 'cross' as it pertains to 'crossing over' in the Old Testament, the word translation is missing or misused. And since I don't read Hebrew I will search more. But either way, the point I wanted to make is 'cross, crossing, or to crossover' is the place of transition, a place of decision from one point to another....
And it is glorious when you choose His cross.
